Well, clearly the big news around here are my new digs.
Do ya likey?
I have to praise Dawn from Austin Design Works for taking the tangled ball of yarn I handed her, in the form of a massive amount of new (and used) content, and running with it. She overhauled my site and created this new look within five days of my hiring her.
My closest friends/readers/stalkers will note that there is no long-promised forum up as of yet. ("And for my next trick..." ) but I'm going to be posting here regularly and am always free to answer questions. I promise to work on getting something else going before THE TOUCH OF TWILIGHT release in June.
For now, I'm going to give people a chance to find me here, and at my site (www.vickipettersson.com) and to celebrate my new decor I'll be giving away a signed cover flat of the June release. Mind, sales hasn't even seen this yet, so you'll be the first in the know. Details on that coming this week!

As a designer I love the new blog and site, amazing! Just started reading your series and I cant get enough, I am offically addicted. I can't wait for the next book!
Vic! Tres cool new digs. Love the new look. I keep hearing praises for Austin. Their sites are great.
About that next trick... *g*
Woo-hoo! The new website looks great. You're the second author I know who has had a website done by dawn, and it is awesome! Kudos to her! And I'm glad you've got a blog. I'm more of a blogger myself (not too keen on LJ, it's too hard for me to use). And what's this about a cover flat for giveaway? *is excited*
-Candace
Both sites look great - glad you found a good web designer!
Hope things are going well with the writing!
Generally, I avoid the blogs like plague (I don't fear shadows induced ones, for I AM Shadow! {veg})but there's three exceptions, Linden's blog for Second Life updates, Kim Harrison and yours!
I didn't know there was supposed to be a forum, though.
have you (or your webmistress Dawn) found one yet?
that brings the question of what will be allowed there, where fan material is concerned?
Day 15 of Zodiac withdrawl, and counting. June is so, SO far away
HI Vicki!
Your new site looks great...Congratulations!
(I'm a new fan, stalker, friend, whatever you call it! lol)
Hi KRISTEN – Always nice to hear great stuff from a designer. I’ll pass the word on to Dawn! And thank you for reading!
KIM – Stop stalking me. {eg}
FREEDOM STAR – Yes, I’m excited to give away this cover flat (or two). I’m thrilled with the new cover and want to show it off. {G} This week, for sure!
Hi TARA! Good to see you. I have to get back to the forum some time soon. If someone could just design more hours in the day for me!
Are you DENIS from MySpace? Seeing someone outside their established virtual environment is so weird! I don’t know anything about the forum yet – I have a reader/friend who promises she knows how to fire it up for me, but we just need to find time to get together. Hopefully soon!
CHRISTINE – I’m so glad you found the books! I was chatting with a friend the other day about how odd it is when someone says they just found the series. I forgot it actually does have a shelf-life! Happy reading – and I hope you continue to stalk me. {G} (Don’t be jealous, Kim!)
All best,
Vicki
Hi again, Vicki!
yup! that's me! I'm the same Denis!
The communauties can be quite inter-connected, especially fandoms ^^
and you, milady, are developping one nice fandom real fast (don't be scare! we don't bite! -much, Ivy would say :p-)
More seriously, I'm trying to gather potential fans from similar likings, but there's a bit of a problem, there's no French translation of your two first book scheduled just yet, so it's a bit hard to get my gaming circle into your Zodiacverse. I try to explain them the best I can, it gets them interrested but some are a bit anglophobic.
Anyway, I keep wondering what kind of fan material will you allow on the forum, if any?
I know that some author loathe it -some even banned fanfictions from big portals like fanfiction.net and fanart on Deviantart.com- other like JK Rowlings encourage it.
Where do you stand about fanmaterial (fics and art), in general and on the forum's rules?
Being a budding author myself (the first who says 'acne' will get sixty nine Cruciatus curses cast upon him or her, and/or lashes from a rusty Conduit) I would be honnored to one say see my work fanficed and fanarted ^^
okay, back on Second Life for a bit then sleeeeeeeep
Denis
ps is there any role playing gamers among Vicki's followers? if yes, which game(s)? me, it's mostly the new World of Darkness, especially Vampire and Mage, and debuting on Changeling the Lost
I AM jealous! *sniff, sniff. sob, sob*
That's okay though. Any stalker of yours is a friend of mine *VBG*
At least I'm not anon anymore. Makes the stalking gig a little harder but eh...
Nice new place, Vicki! Looking forward to what you have in store here but I really wanted to remain anonymous, now I am an official "blogger." ; )
Mendi in STL
Aww Don't be jealous, Kim!
You and Vicki are my two favorite writers,ahead of JKR and Aaron Alston {w}
I've converted a colleague of mine to the Rachel Morgan Happy World by offering her Une Sorcière Pour L'Echafaud (the French version of Dead Witch Walking) and she keeps asking me for the second one. Had to run away to avoid being smacked on when I told her that I'm expecting the sixth one sometime next month!
She also asked me, Vicki, if there's a Spanish version of the Zodiac books? Spanish being her mother language, she might skip the wait for a French version of your books.
Dude! I just finished your story in Holidays are Hell and I LOVE LOVE LOVED IT!! Wow, that was such an interesting spin to things I am so happy I finally got my copy and yours was the second story I read (sorry, I had to get my Rachel Morgan fix!!!) Thank you for that story, I really enjoyed it! I can't wait until the summer now. You'll just have to send me that ARC I keep hounding you for. HA!
DENIS – A fandom? Seriously?
Hunh.
Ohhh…French is reportedly a difficult market to break into. High standards are good, though. I’ll keep my fingers crossed!
As for fan material, I absolutely cannot/will not risk reading fanfic. Doesn’t mean you can’t write it – who am I to tell anyone what to do with their time or minds? – but I just can’t see it. Legal reasons, yanno? But fan art? Hell to the yeah! I’d find it interesting, inspiring, exciting, and just plain fun! If you don’t mind, I’ll probably tag this question for a upcoming round of Q&A. Thanks, too, for asking!
KIM – You’ll always be a stalker to me.
{Eg}
MENDI! We’ll make a blogger out of you yet! Thanks for popping up with your pixels!
CAT – Believe me, no offense taken. You did read that I’m devouring an ARC of Kim’s latest, right? {eg} I’m a big ol’ Harrison fangirl. And I’m so glad you enjoyed Zoe’s story. I really love her, and can’t wait to catch up with her again.
Oh, sure. Taunt me with the ARC of KH's latest. Thanks for that. I was lucky enough to get one for her third book when I was in the book biz (love those pub reps!) but alas, I am now in another biz and there is less ARC obtaining now.
And I swear I don't tend to post a billion comments on author blogs as much as I do here. I seem all creepy stalker-like now, don't I? My apologies...
*backs away slowing, though still grumbling about the ARC taunting*
CAT - LOL. Maybe _I_ should be the one backing away slowly. {eg}
Know that's what I'm talkin' bout. Definitely feeling the love now, Vic ;)
Ohhh, Denis, while I'm completely thrilled with the compliment I think you've got me confused with THE Kim as in Harrison. Unless you're gushing about my awesome guest blog spots ;) Sorry, that's not me but I am a huge fan girl of The Hollows.
See that, Vic? I actually got mistaken for KH! I'm SO totally gonna milk that for all its worth. LOL
*turns so red cars would stop in front of me thinking I'm a traffic light*
ohh looks like I just pulled a Nymphadora T there!
sorry about the mistake!
Vicki, do you know if your books are aviable in spanish? With hearing me talking about your 'verse, she wants to read it, but doesn't know English only Spannish and French ^^
oh, here's one more for your Q&A: could you make a listing of the signs and respective Light and Shadows agents?
Are they limited to the Monthly signs as shown so far (the Gold Signs, as I call them), or are there other agents serving under lesser or even minor constellations ?
There I would start to sing -off key- 'Burn you cosmo down!
Embrace the power of your soul!
To the limits of the stars, see a miracle become true!
Maybe we will fail.
We will learn to feel the pain
Still far is the way but a promess has been done
Pegasus Fantasy! It's only in your dream.
Use the wings of your soul, this time noone can stop your flight!'
(I wonder how many people here will recognize the lyrics ^^ Anyone into anime should)
Okay on this, I'm going back to reading Changeling the Lost corebook ^^
Here, DENIS. Meet the KIM who stalks me. {G} Kim Harrison, alas, does not.
Nope, my books aren't in Spanish yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
And, yes, I can indeed post a listing of the star signs and their agents. I'm headed out of town in a bit, but that'll be a fun post for next week. Thanks for thinking of it!
Pleased to meet you, Kim ^^
heya, Vicki! hope your trip was a good one.
sorry to hear about the lack of translation so far *sad grins* gonna be fayed alive because I teased my friend with something not aviable yet. :p
Oh, if you're not against anime, I have a nice one to suggest you.
it gave me similar adrenalin rush and liking I got from your books.
It's called DEVIL MAY CRY. Dante, the hero, is in the same place in life that Jo is, more or less: he's half light, half Dark. Beside the music absolutely kick ass!
Youtube is, you'll see there's some episodes aviable. I watched the 12 lot of them on VEOH, myself
till next time!
